Born in Knoxville TN.  Graduated from Powell High School.  Attended Roane State Community College.  Her husband, John Young, is a sign sales and service agent.

The Youngs have twin daughters Madeline and Isabelle who are active in dance and gymnastics.  Family activities include camping, hiking, swimming, white water rafting and attending U.T. Football games.
